Has anyone ever bought a PU out of state or province and had it shipped to them?

What might something like that cost?

I bought mine south of the border. I made the trip on my own to pick it up.
The cost at the border was GST and later PST when I needed to plate the thing with Ontario plates. No duty charges applied.

Hope this helps a bit.

I purchased one from Ohio couple of years ago, I live in PA.  It was a 7 hour drive one way.  I was looking at one from a dealer and one over EBay from a private person.  The dealer said that it would cost me $340 for delivery.  The cost was "blank" cents per mile.  I ended up driving to get it from the private individual so I never followed through on it.

If you are looking for beginning resources, you can go to EBay Motors division.  They have a few companies that do large deliveries (cars, trucks, campers, etc) for buyers.  You could get some names and see some rates.  When I compared, they were much higher than the dealer in Ohio.

Good Luck!

Gotta laugh out of this. At first, I thought, "There's an RV dealer in Mexico???  :sombraro:   "

Then I realized....

:D No need. It was just my point of reference. I easily saw that you were posting from Canada.

There's a tourist trap in South Carolina (just over the border from North Carolina) called "South of the Border."  They carry a fair amount of Mexican (and probably more immitaion Mexican) goods.

From downtown Detroit, Michigan, "South of the Border" is Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Just a word of advice before buying out of state, etc...

I got a super deal on my hybrid by driving from NY to a dealer I found on www.rvtraderonline.com in Indiana.  I saved over $5000 (NOT a typo!) by driving out there and towing it back.  I buy most of my vehicles out of state.  The advice I can give here is that usually I pay NY sales tax on the purchase price of the vehicle when I go to register it.  HOWEVER, Indiana required me to pay a certain percentage of sales tax, and the dealer said that "IN has 'reciprocity' with NY" and that "NY would just take off what I paid to IN".  I found this to be wierd since I had purchased a new Crown Vic Police car in IN in 2001, and IN did not want any sales tax then.  Long story short, I had to PAY SALES TAX TWICE TO TWO DIFFERENT STATES.  I still saved thousands of dollars, but this: 1) really pissed me off, and 2) made me feel like the super sweet deal was a little sour.  Make sure you find out about the sales tax before purchasing out of state.
