And since we're talking vintage, I have seen a 1948 pop-up.  You can just barely see the trailer (unfortunately, folded) behind the old car (with an old canoe on it).  Look at the second picture, with all the people standing in the way:

I have seen this particular trailer several times (the dealer is less than 10 miles from where I live), and I will be asking them if they have a better photo that I could post.

This dealer has been selling trailers for three generations, and has an excellent reputation.  We even had another dealer send us to them when they did not have the part we needed.

Very cool pictures!  I especially like the red F-100 towing the tear drop -- we have a '53 F-100 in the garage.  Hmmmm, once the kids are grown, maybe we'll have a "new" tow vehicle!
