When the popup is going to sit for awhile DH unplugs the battery. When we plug it back in to leave for a trip the radio comes on, even though it was off when we unplugged the battery.

Does this happen to the other Niagara owners out there?  and is there anything that can be done?

We have an 07 arcadia and our radio does the same thing.  I haven't looked closely enough at the radio to see if the radio can be turned off completely.  I have also noticed that the volume always comes on at about 18 and I have to quickly turn the volume down.

I haven't noticed any odd behavior of that sort with mine..of course it's been closed up all winter.

I'll take notice when I connect things up next week to prep for our first outing of the season.

I assume that everybody has the Linear M3200CD?  Looking at the wiring diagram I think I can almost see what would cause it to come on with the battery connection.  There are two 12V in wires on this unit-a red wire which is normally connected to a switched (ignition) circuit in normal automobile installations, and a yellow wire that gets constant voltage to maintain the clock, memory functions and the last audio settings.  If the red wire, which is supposed to be switched, is connected to an unswitched 12V feed and power is supplied (like when reconnecting the battery), could that cause the symptoms described?  You likely have to reset the clock and reprogram the memory buttons, too.

Just thinking out loud.

our 06 niagra does the same thing, at first we thought it was us leaving it on then we realized what was happening. we've gotten to several campgrounds only to hear the radio playing.

I have "07" Avalon and the clock part comes on and not the radio. If it's
turned off when you disconnect the battery then it shouldn't turn on
when you reconnect the battery. You might want to check your owners
manual about this.
