Hello!

We're very close to finally joining the PU ranks.
We've found a dealer that has these 3 floorplans that would work great for us.

Two of them are no longer listed as Flagstaff models, but all are being sold as "new", so they must be old stock.

I don't want to ask which model is "best" - because I know that depends on our needs.
But I am very interested in any and all thoughts that come to your mind about any of these models.
(For example - the 524SS is a super slide - looks like a very cool floorplan, but no longer made and no mention of it in the archives here... so was their something "off" about it?)

That kind of thing...
822? 524SS? 229? - anything you think I oughta know.

Thank you!!!!

Hi Scott ~ first off, I know nothing about the Flagstaff popups other than seeing them going down the road or at a campsite from time to time. But I know that all the popup camper manufacturer's seem to do the constant switchey-changey floor plans from year to year!  Of course there are some old standby floor plans that seem to keep on year after year.  Presently I have a '99 model Starcraft that I bought new just after the new year of '00 began. In this case the '99 and '00 Starcraft models were identical but I saved $1500.00 for openers by buying the '99 - and the warranty began from the date I bought the unit and not from the model year. Since I very well plan on using this camper until "the wheels fall off" -  there probably won't be much use in talking re-sale value as I plan on using all the value out of the little bugger!  But what is real important, the camper is just right for what I do and fits my needs to a "T".

Again, I think floor plans will come and go. Do what fits your needs best.

I'm not familiar with those particular floorplans, but I will say we are very happy with our Flagstaff.  This will be our 3rd year camping in it - it was a year old when we got it and still looked brand new.  The original owners upgraded to a TT and traded it in.  The only problem we have had was a broken hinge on the storage trunk lid (and that was user error).  We didn't like the RVQ grill at all, but I know others who love it.  We LOVE the heated bunk-ends.  I agree that choosing the floor plan which works best for you is the key thing.  In our case, we didn't want to have to crawl over anything (dinette, etc) to get into either bunk-end.  Good luck with your purchase!
