We are getting the PU out of the winter storage barn this weekend.:D It's supposed to be about mid 70's and 100% sunshine this weekend here in SW Ohio.  We'll do "Camp Driveway" this weekend, to do maintainence, but then.......
Got a new (to us) TV also. Traded in the '03 Durango on an '05 with the Hemi -I know it's overkill but hey.....
It's like the difference between night and day. Much much nicer vehicle. Can't wait to start pulling the PU with it.
Took a road trip on Tuesday to Alum Creek State park to scope out the campgrounds. It looks like a really nice place. We will definately try it out this year. The four year old can't wait. She wants to get the camper and go NOW! Well, me and momma do too.

How did you like the '03? I'm in the market for a new TV and that is what's in my price range. How did you like room for passengers(we have 5 adult sized) and cargo?

The '03 had, as all vehicles do, both pro's and con's. On the pro side the 5.9 ltr had plenty of grunt. Even though it didn't have a factory trailer package, it pulled the Pup like it wasn't even back there. Even when fully loaded, it hauled just fine.  On the negative side...5.9 ltr got 14mpg. all the time. That's the best it got. Although when towing it didn't get much less. Also it was built on a truck chassis so rode like a truck. A one or two hour haul would start to beat you up. A four hour trip would wear you out pretty good. Especially for the back seat -middle row- seat passengers. The third row is only adequate for children; no adult can ride there for long. Mechanically, it seemed pretty dependable for us, however if you do a web search you'll find a lot of info on tranmission troubles. We had some trans problems but a $50.00 TPS seemed to improve it. The lock up converter seemed to be always locking and unlocking while cruising on the highway -towing or not. I still never did trust the transmission completely -I did install a very large trans cooler before towing with it. Bottom line - it got the job done for us. It wasn't overly comfortable and it wasn't too economical but it got the job done. And I was always worried about trans trouble.
