this is an uninformed question. this is our first popup with a fridge-until now we've always used a cooler. My unit (94 Yosemite) is two way-battery or propane. If i'm on 110 at the campground, won't the fridge run off the converter?

Are you sure it's two-way (battery-propane) and not 3-way (battery-propane-120V)?  I've heard of 2-way fridges, but they run on 120V and propane because on larger fridges the amount of 12V needed is way too much to be practical.

In any case, the amount of power needed by a fridge on 12V would use nearly everything your converter has to offer.  If you really don't have a 120V option on your fridge, use it on propane at the campground.  Propane will work well, and the fridge uses very little (a 20-lb bottle would last most of the summer if the fridge was left on the whole time).

I think what you have is a propane or 120v fridge. When we camp we always use the propane option in the warmer months as it cools better then having it on 120.Come October we put it on the 120v setting as to not to freeze anything in the fridge.Hope that helps.
