Help!  Bought an '04 Bayside with a 77"x70" mattress on each end.  My wife is in a tizzy as she can't find sheets that are that size - anybody have any ideas?  I hate to have to sell the camper before we have used it.

I would use a King Size sheets.  They don't have to be exactly snug fit..  However, If your wife insists (it would cost more) I'd try //www.sheetsusa.com  They can manufacture to your specific demensions.  For me. I've used queen/king size sheets and they work just fine.

Fleetwood used to have sheets you could buy that would fit perfectly.  With my recent experience with Fleetwood accessory/parts prices, they will want 3-5 times what they are worth.

We got some sheets to fit our Bayside somewhere on-line (it's been many years). They have the top and bottom sheet connected at the foot, which is valuable when working with a relatively thin, light mattress like those in a pop-up.  If I can find them, I'll post a link.

What I've done in the past is get a flat sheet in your prefered color and attach the sides with a mattress clip (clips on both sides with elastic in the middle)  They stay snug and don't slip off.   This is a cheap alternative to RV sheets.

We use sleeping bags zipped together, for two! :D

I also have a Coleman Slumberpac, (it's a large color-coordinated sleeping bag that matches the matress color and fit's the King Size bunks perfectly, but was discontinued, but some dealers still have NOS).

No sheets!  We're camping! ;)

If you must have sheets, you might also investigate the Travasak .

Camping Coxes

I have to have sheets on the beds.  The upholestery is too scratchy for my taste and I don't want body oils to get on the mattresses.  Having this neurosis, plus being uber-cheap, I was not going to spend a fortune on sheets, so I found that king size sheets work beautifully.  They're not snug, but that makes the bed easier to make when we get there.  Best deals are the clearance sections of department stores.

When we're folding down, we just strip the beds and put the sheets in with the rest of the dirty clothes, to be laundered and put in our "camping bag" along with the towels and washcloths that are specifically for the trailer.  Next time we go camping, we grab the bag and all that stuff is together, ready to go!

We also use the King size sheets.  They work well and we have found they stay on quite well.  I have looked into Travasaks and they are really really nice and really really expensive.  Maybe by next fall when winter is coming we will take a look at them.  I plan to do some winter camping in El Poppie.

We too use king sheets, but we use California King sheets easier to put on than King sheets too.

You can also probably get them at camping world.com they have the ones that have the top and bottom attached together.

I also use Cal King sheets on the king camper bed.  I get the bottom sheets with elastic all the way around so the sheets stay on the mattress.  On the double bed in the camper I use a standard double bed sheet with the elastic all the way around. :)

I like to sew - and maybe your wife doesn't - but for sheets, you're talking only simple straight seams.....

SAM's club ( and possibly other places) has 'Hotel packs' of 6 white flat (or fitted) sheets in a package for less than ONE of those specialty sets.  I would buy 1 pkg of 6 king sheets and make a giant pillowcase for the entire mattress, one for each bed end in your camper ( 2 giant pockets) and you'd still have two flat sheet left over for the tops.

The other thing I have done for years, is to make the same kind of 'pocket' liner for our sleeping bags.  either take a queen flat sheet, fold it in half and sew up the bottom and halfway up the side, and you have a 'liner' for a single sleeping bag.  Two flat twin sheets sewn along their edges usually fit perfectly inside two sleeping bags zipped together. (they have to be sewn up at the feet to at least hip high, or they'll just bunch up.)

Sleeping bags aren't supposed to be washed alot - it flattens their stuffing and (and me!) to take his bag on a whole week of summer camp, scout weekends, etc, and then he gets the LINER dirty, not the bag itself.  If it's hot, then he stilll has a sheet for cover, and can sleep on top of the sleeping bag. With kids, this has been a lifesaver - as they will get sand and who-knows-what in their bags!  It's much easier to pull out the liner and shake it out, than to deal with the whole, heavy sleeping bag.

These liners can be used on TOP of the PUP mattresses - usually they are plenty long to tuck under the mattress at the pillow end, and have the benefit of being closed along the outside edge (no drafts)

Like the Coxes, at the end of the trip, we just launder the liner, and put it back  inside the sleeping bag before storing it, so it's ready to go the next trip.

I use sheets, too, and want to offer a tip to all youse what use 'em. Make up the bed before attaching the bunk end sides to the frame. My Starcraft has emergency exits that allow me to open the bunk end sides completely. I make up my bed standing outside, not crawling around in the bunk. Try it.

We use flat sheets that DW sewed elastic to so they fit quite nicely around the mattress. A cheaper solution than buying RV sheets, and if you are not concerned about the colour you can pick uo flat sheets very cheaply at discount outlets.
