We purchased our new-to-us pop-up camper in April and are finally ready to take it out this Weekend - Happy Mothers Day to ME! What criteria do you use when selecting a camp site from a map on the Ohio State Parks website when you haven't been there? Do you want to be close to the playground if you have young kids (ages 5 & 9)? Do you like shade or partial sun and what are the advantages/disadvantages of each? Do you want lake view or are there more bugs? HELP!!!

Lake Cowan, near Wilmington is well worth going to along with Stonelick Sate Park (Goshen area, Northern Clermont County). Both offer playgrounds for the kids. Cowan is quite a bit larger in size and ammenites offered.

For a private campground check out "Little Farm on the River" between Lawrenceburg & Rising Sun (Indiana), just a couple of miles North of Grand Victoria Casino.

For information about Stonelick, this can also be found on the "Friends of Stonelick" website. This is a great group that donates times and money to help maintain and improve the park.

My apologies for the brief note and not answering all your questions, I'm a little short on time.

Congratulations on the new purchase! You'll enjoy it. My wife got her Mother's Day present last year going from a hybird to a travel trailer.

Thank you for the suggestions! We ended up at Cowen Lake and LOVED it! We realized we needed to find a way to bring the bikes! We are still trying to figure out the best way to do that! It was the PERFECT Mothers Day weekend as the kids did all the dishes!
