The sidewall of my tire reads max pressure 65 p.s.i. cold.  I have 35 pounds in them and they look and feel fine to me.  Isn't 65 a little high?  Are the tires mismarked?

No, 65 psi is not too much for camper tires. I would recommend towing with the tires at max. pressure. It makes your tires last longer, and it reduces trailer sway due to the stiffer sidewall.

JMHO.

FYI, there are some camper tires out there that have a max. rating of 80 psi.

I'm sure others will chime in.

Looks good does NOT apply to ST (special trailer) tires. Unlike P (passenger grade) and LT (light truck) tires; ST tires are ONLY designed to run at the MAXIMUM pressure listed on the tire sidewall. It is not a recommended pressure, it is a manditory pressure.
AND the tire maker do recommend checking the pressure and adjusting it cold in the morning of EVERYDAY you intend to tow.
Running 65 PSI tires at 35 PSI means you have less than 1/2 the tire's weight rating. Which means you have tires that are going to at the best case run hot and lose lifespan and at the worst case blow out at highway speeds on a Sunday night in the rain. Taking the wheel well and siding along with it.

While it may be possible to run less than 65 PSI, I assure you 35 PSI is way too low.

The only tires that should ever be inflated "by feel" is bicycle tires, and even then, I use the numbers for mine.
