I set up my 99 Coleman Westlake yesterday for the first time this year.  We are at a campground that we have to use our internal water system.  We have electricity, so I filled my water tank, and turned the pump on.  I have repeatly tried this, letting the hot water tank try to fill up, but to no avail.  I don't think the pump is getting the prime.  Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Are you getting any water at the sink?  If yes, then something else is wrong

The pump shoud be self-priming.  A common problem when no water is coming through is a clogged screen.  It is either just before the pump, or a part of the pump assembly.  Just take it apart and rinse it.

Had a similar problem with a TT we used to own.  I unhooked the shower head so that I had the hose remaining.  Put the hose in my mouth and "primed" the pump myself.  that fixed the problem.  Don't know what caused it, but it was a quick and easy solution if you have an outside shower.  Otherwise, find the pump output line disconnect it, and turn the pump on.  If water comes out, the problem is somewhere in the plumbing.  if no water comes out, clogged screen, clogged inlet or bad pump.

that being said, It could take quite a while to fill a 6 gallon water heater using the electric pump.

let us know what you find out.
