Just got back from a nice long weekend trip up to San Simeon State Park (Hearst Castle).  On my way up I noticed a bubble forming on the sidewall on a tire on my 2000 Jayco Eagle LSO.  I made it to the campground and on the way back home today stopped at a Chevy dealer in San Luis Obispo.  They were nice enough to pop the spare on for me in about 4 minutes!  Anyway, I need a ST175/80R13.  I guess I should replace both at the same time, huh?

I'm not in a rush so willing to order on-line if that's the best deal.

Any advice is appreciated!

P.S.  I also lost my plastic battery cover.  I knew it was loose and that I should strap a bungie over it but I was lazy!  Where can I pick up a replacement?

I would like to know where to buy new tires also.

You can pick up a new battery box at Walmart or most auto parts stores. Just make sure that you get the correct size for your battery (or larger). I don't think that you will find a cover sold separately.

I have heard good things about these Kenda tires
these are what I am going to get when I need to replace my tires.
Just find a local Kenda dealer to order these for you if you like them.

Hey, you were right here in town!  You must have stopped at Kimball Motor Company.

Yes, I'd replace them as pairs, or get all 3 if your spare is older.  Check out what's available at www.tirerack.com

I agree with TheTireRack.com  I bought paddle tires for an atv I had from them and it worked out great. Here is a link to the trailer tire section. They sell Marathon tires.  I have these on my Travel Trailer and have been very happy with them.

Yeah, I have Marathons on there.  Not sure why one of them developed the sidewall bubble.

Try J C Whitney. They carry a full line of Duro trailer tires at reasonable prices. I have ordered two sets from them on line in the past three years and the tires were shipped within 24 hrs. Free shipping too....

As far as replacing both, I've thought that was a function of tire failure.  If you have a flat, all the weight of the camper would be carried by the remaining wheel of the tandem pair, severly overloading it and setting it up for failure in fairly short order.  (I'm assuming here you have dual axles.)

If you've not had a flat and not subjected a tire to overloading, do you really need to replace both?

I have a 2000 Eagle as well and just replace my marathons as well, I had to do it in a hurry and it cost 200 installed by good year, camping world price starts at 122 each so I guess I the deal wasent to bad.  By the way I have the same size tires my old ones had great tread but started to get hair line cracks on the side walls, the dealer recommends replacing every three years.  Hope this helps.

I just ordered two new tires at:

Hope that link works...Anyhow, we just got the camper (1996 Coleman Key West) and I just wanted new bearings and tires for peace of mind.  The prices were with the wheel and tire, shipping wasn't bad, and they came kinda quick (but I could be near their warehouse).
