oh me! just popped up the camper to check the install of an air conditioner... YIKES! there's a orange cord coming out the FRONT (visible as you enter the door) of the "ceiling assembly" and continuing down the middle of the ceiling to the back...left...and down.

now, my question:  the pics i've looked at online show the "ceiling assembly" cord exiting from the back and going a much shorter distance to the back wall.....

Also, we TOLD the installers that we already had an install kit (named-?) that included a thinner black cord, clamps to attach it to the ceiling, AND a long white cord-cover that would fit perfectly over a cord to hide it IF it  exited out the back side of the "ceiling assembly."  They did NOT use any of our things that were made for our Starcraft.

UGH  is this normal? the orange cord is an eyesore.  our entire experience w/ this company(can i name it?) was unprofessional and a disaster... i can detail THAT later :(

Here is a quote  from the rules:

"It s OK to criticize a product, manufacturer, campground or Pop UP Times. Just be honest and fair to all parties involved, including your fellow board readers"

So, as long as it's truthful - name away

Doesn't sound normal to me.  Even though PUP makers are trying to do things as cheaply as possible, even they use a white cord and cord cover on the ceiling assembly.  sounds like the installer just did a poor job.  I would politely ask they do the install correctly.  If they say it was, ask them why they didn't use the install kit you supplied and also to show them the packaging of a simlilar orange cord showing it as the proper cord (matching part #s) for your model AC.  You will either have these guys falling all over themselves to correct the problem, or run into a stone wall.  If you hit the stone wall, Better Business Bureaus do some good, Attorney General Complaints and TV Troubleshooters get much better results.

let us know how it turns out!

just an update. we called the installers and talked to the man in charge.  he was very kind and said he'd been out that day and didn't supervise our  install.  he also apologized and said that they'd been completely swamped, then offered to correct the problem.   we will take the pop up  in sometime next week and see what happens.  it's still such a disappointment  to pay hundreds of dollars for work that poor.

Good luck with the reinstall.  Let us know how you make out.:)
