I've got a '05 Starcraft PU with an outdoor RVque that uses the PU gas supply as fuel.  It's a great idea and I use it often, but the heat output isn't really adquate for cooking a large steak.

   Does anyone know if it is possible to modify the unit to raise the BTU output to a higher level?

I had the opposite situation with my RVQ, too much heat. So, I put a grill thermometer in the lid of mine to monitor temperatures (since I also use it for baking biscuits) and can routinely generate temps of 500 degrees if I leave it unattended on "high." I can't imagine why your unit won't burn a steak. I'm assuming you've disassembled the burner and cleaned it?
Mine throws out fingers of flame appx. 3/8 to 1/2 inch or so. Yours?

   Mine was new when I got it so apparently not plugged up.  The PU is in storage right now so I can't check it before my next trip, but my recollection is that the flame goes out 3/8 of an inch or so.  Good idea for me to take a thermometer with me on the next trip.  Thanks
