I finally found what was causing the poor flame performance on my Dometic refrigerator.

I took apart the refrigerator that was in the '83 Starcraft Starflyer and discovered the burner tube is actually supposed to be slotted where the gas flame comes out, so as to make a nice little 4 tipped flame.

You can see in the photo below that my burner was all broken out in that area, and in looking through the "viewing door" it sort of looked normal.....until I compared it to a correct one.

Had to remove the refrigerator to replace the burner, but that was easy and fast.  I now have a nice fat blue flame that is smooth and silent.  I've got the temp control set to "5" and it's making cold even as we speak! In 2-1/2hrs it's dropped from the mid 60's to 48*F inside.

Well, 24hrs later and on tempurature setting #5, I have 34*F and a full tray of ice cubes.  The tempurature control is working and the flame does respond to higher or lower settings of the dial.

I'm pretty happy to say the least!

Hey, that's pretty cool (pun intended).
Maybe we should see if we can get subtopic folders inside this Mr. Fix it folder for each area of the camper.

Would be nice to have this organzed by appliance or specific area of the camper for future reference.

Not sure how your shelves are organzied in that model but I had one in my popup that wouldn't hold a gallon jug until I modified one of the racks.

Hey.......nice rack! (so to speak)

Good idea on having some catagories, especially if people are willing to document what they've done during a repair or modification. That would make a nice "How To" area.
