Thought some of you might enjoy the "altered space" we created. We have a 2002 Coleman Niagara and we choose to use the public restrooms so have now used the hanging straps to the ceiling (for the shower curtain) to suspend chains and a triangular 2-shelf unit that now holds the flat screen TV and VCR. If anyone is interested in the construction, let me know - would be haqpy to share the size and materials needed. It realy is simple!

Someone from a PopUp list I'm on came up with this idea. I was going to do it this past weekend until I discovered that the parts I already had on hand weren't going to do it. The shelf was 1.5" too short. Gotta go pick up an 8' shelf and cut it down.

I mentioned the idea of constructing a TV shelf using the straps from the ceiling to hold up the shower curtain for toilet/shower area and remembered to photograph the TV hooked up this past weekend so that you can see the cut of the wood, the wooden dowels used to adjust the top shelf on the chain and then the eye-bolts and latch-hooks that I purchased to hand the bottom shelf. The 3/4-inch plywood was cut at a triangular shape using the width of the ceiling straps. The holes in the top shelf were drilled to allow the chain links to pass through them. The bottom shelf had three eye-bolts secured to it and the latch-hooks are then attached through them. The dowels are placed through the chain under the top shelf - and you can adjust that shelf to whatever height you want it.
It sounds as clear as mud trying to explain it but if you need some help, my direct e-mail is:

would be happy to explain (hopefully) as best I can so that you can construct your own. The two pieces of plywood lie flat on the bench seat near the door of the Niagara when we close up the popup and the chains and dowels go into a particular drawer so I can find them when we reopen the camper.
Depending on your knowledge of securing these straps to the ceiling, I guess you could put the TV any place you want? If someone does know this technique, please let me know. We are planning to upgrade and the toilet/shower unit is going to be used as designed for, so will be looking for another area to "hang our TV".
