I am considering buying a air conditioner for our pop-up.  Can anyone tell me what I should consider before purchasing one?  I have no knowledge about air conditioners.  Any info would be helpful.

Also, how well do they work in a pop up.  Is is a worthwhile investment?

I have a 14 foot Jayco.  Would a 13,500 btu be enough or should we consider a 15,000 btu.

Thank you for any help.

My AC is a 13,500 and it works great in our Bayside.  I guess it couldn't hurt to go with the 15,000 if there isn't that much of a price difference.

I've heard great things about the Carrier brand AC units.

And I don't consider any purchase for the pup as an investment.  It won't ever increase in value.  It will make some days camping more enjoyable, though.  I've only used my AC on 2 trips, and I was very happy I had the AC on those trips.

I have the Carrier Air V and picked it over the other RV air conditioners for several reasons.   It throws the condensation back onto the compressor so you don't have as much water running off of the roof.  Another feature I like is that you can have the vents osculate, so the cold air isn't always hitting the same spot.  If you get the Carrier, I recommend that you get the heat option with it.  It will add about $50 to the price of the AC unit, but it can not be added later, unless you want to buy a new inside unit.  The more BTUs the cooler you will be able to keep the camper.  The 13,500 cools our 10 foot very, very well.:)
