I am kinda concerned that the ball and socket won't hold. so I am wraping a short strap around the roof lifts and hooking them to the the small D ring at the bottom of the pole. Also I didn't want to put screws into my roof [ mainly because I am the original owner and I don't want Fleetwood to have any reason denie thier warrenty ] . So instead I bought a couple of cheap rubber chair feet and sliped them over the ball ends. Such as the origanal ones were.

Thats a good looking awning. Couple questions if I may.  It looks like the extendable poles that go from the awning to the lower box of the pu are as short as they go, do you tilt the awning during rain?  How big is the c channel the bag slips into? Compare it to a pencil maybe, the channel on my pu is small enough that a pencil could not slide into the channel.  I might have to get a differant channel to make it work for me.

Actually, in the pictures on my webshots album, the poles are extended all the way. I can tilt the awning down quite a bit from there.

I just went and measured the "Bolt rope" (that's the plastic part that slides into the C channel). It is exactly 1/4 " in diameter. That is certainly smaller than a standard pencil. In fact, I was a little concerned about it being too small for the channel on our PU but it holds OK. It may be perfect for yours.

Make sure that you add a few self tapping screws (if there are no holes down the tract. West Virgina became the proud owner of a popup awning that I did not have screwed down good. One or two did not hold it, that plastic strip actually tore off...this was an almost brand new awning, so ot was not from rotting threads.

Ok I looked up this thred again, because I don't think our bag awning is going to last long.  A couple questions....

Does the mounting for the bottom pole on the PU interfer with the PU closing?

It looks like you have to drill holes in the roof to install this, is there any worry on leaks?  Did you need to caulk?

The guy's price has gone up a little bit:

The top rafter poles do have a receiver socket that needs to be screwed to the roof. You may not want to screw through the bag, the way that I did it. I had a particular reason for doing that. However, it would be a good idea to put a sealant (like silicone sealer) under that receiver socket and on the screws.

I screwed the lower receiver sockets into the aluminum bed rail because I felt it is stronger and safer (less likely to leak). It does not interfere with the bed closing on MY PU. You will need to carefully check your's before doing that. Most people screw the lower receiver sockets into the outside wall of the PU. It would need to have silicone sealer under it.

We will be together next weekend at the rally. You can see mine then. If you decide to order it, I'd be happy to help you install it at the rally. :sombraro:

That's the same awning that came on my new 2008 Flagstaff 625D.
I like it, except for one thing.  The Colorado Carefree awning I had on my last camper had a Velcro strip to hold the rolled-up awning, so you could zip up the bag.

The Trimline has three tie strings.  If you are rolling the awning up by yourself, you have to hold the awning with your head (if up high) or shoulder while you tie the straps.

I'm going to replace the tie strings with Velcro.  You can roll the awning up, and hold it with one hand and do the Velcro with the other hand.

Other than that, it's a nice awning.  :)

I met a guy last weekend that had a Motorhome, not a huge 1M dollar one either. It had a a little wind thing on the roof that would spin, when it spun so fast it would send an electronic signal to the awning and the awning would retract. I've heard of these many times but seeing it actually work was cool.

I want one.

I cut those silly little tie strings off. I just roll up the awning and zip the bag closed. I don't see any reason for tying the awning inside the bag.
