Try that again

Mine hasn't had any problems to be plugged in to the 120 while to the vehicle connected; but I would check the easiest first:

1. make sure you have a clean and secure connection of the 7-pin connector
2. turn signals still work?  If not you may not have a good ground to the tow vehicle
3. power to the vehicle's trailer connector?  Try a 12 volt tester if you have one, or if not a scrap of wire and a good 12V light bulb.  If no power to the connector on the vehicle, first probably a fuse on the vehicle, or secondly the connection of the vehicle wiring to the tow vehicle's plug-in.
4. Light bulbs good?

Good luck, and let us know your success.

I'd like to help you but I do that all the time.  I don't understand why it blew out you lights.

Having your trailer plugged into 120v has no bearing on plugging your trailer harness into your vehicle (if I'm reading you right).

If your trailer lights were working properly previously, it must be a bad ground or the connector may not be making good contact in the socket. If it is a blown fuse, you have a short somewhere and you should find it before you get on the road.

the j--k a--es at jeep did a flash program update in my vehicle yesterday and more than likely disabled the towing harness .it is doing the same thing as when i first picked up the trailer .it had to go back to them to enabled the program.now i,m 6 hrs behind GRRRRRRRRRRR

Isn't camping a hoot :D

This kinda stuff always happens when you least expect it. However, trailer wiring problems are quite common. If you don't have a test light, you might want to get one. You can almost count on another lighting failure sometime and it's a good idea to learn how to find the problem. A working knowledge of a test light will locate the problem 90% of the time.

Now get off the computer and go camping....... :sombraro:

Plugging in the tow vehicle while the camper's plugged into 120 volt shouldn't be a problem unless you see the roof rack on the tow vehicle standing up on end.

Seriously, it sounds like you've located the source of your trouble, from a previous post, and it's not related to being plugged in at both ends.  Hope all's well with you now.

Sounds like the blown fuse was in the mind of the Jeep dealer.  Don't blow a gasket yourself; enjoy your trip despite them.
