Self-Service Rally: San Mateo CG 9/28-30/07

I hang out on another board -- RV Women.  It's basically a bunch of retired/widowed/maybe single women who are feisty enough to go camping on their own.  Two women in the area are going to be camping at San Mateo this weekend (on my invitation).  I've never met them before, but have told them about SCCampers.  Guess I'm taking a risk bringing the 2 groups together ...

Anyway, one of the reasons I don't want to do the pot-luck thing is because of them.  I didn't want to "impose" them on our traditions, and I didn't want to leave them out, either.  So, if we all could just join you & bring our own plates of food, I'd appreciate it.

There's part of me that's wondering whatever possessed me to suggest that they join us.  Makes me feel a bit anxious ... wanting everyone to be happy.  Oh well, maybe it'll rain & we'll all hide out in our rigs!

That being said, I'll bring wood, now that I don't have to worry so much about overloading my car!

I'm really, really ready to camp!  Haven't gone since July!

We too purchased a new to us TV.  It's an 06 Ford F150 5.4L Crewcab.  This is my new ride and the kids love it.

That's cold? Last week at Doogwood it was cold - 40's to low 30's with rain.

LUCKY!!!  Starting to drizzle here.  WHat is it with SCCampers and thier weather luck?

I'm shutting down my computer and (finally!!) heading home to pick up Griffy. Then it's off to McD's and then down to the cg to camp!!!!  Catch everyone Sunday! :W

Well, I'm home, unpacked & ready for a nap.  I don't know how it happens, but I brought a cold home ... grrrr!  The kids in my class have all been hacking & sneezing, so I'm not surprised.  The first weekend I actually stop & relax & look what happens.  Let's hope it'll be short-lived.

The weather was postcard-perfect, and it was fun to just hang out & do nothing.  We had campfires both nights -- and I actually hung out.  Of course we didn't party until the next day, but it was delightful.  

As much fun as it is to hang out with the whole bunch, a small group is nice, too.  That being said, I'll see y'all next month!

Glad you had fun.  Glad to help a little.  We had a good time, but I guess we missed the big group, my oldest at least was bored a lot of the weekend.  He won't be at the Halloween Rally I assure that!
