Hi everybody!

What a great and helpful site!  We are going out in our pop up camper for the first time tonight.  Our camper is used (2006 Fleetwood Evolution E2).  I think its been weatherized because some pink liquid comes out (just drips) of the sink when I turn it on.  The campsite we are going to has full hookups.  Should we just take care of the "de-weatherizing" there?  I've heard of some "bypass the water heater" thing we need to take care of in the process.  Is there a separate tank for hot water and other water.  Sorry to sound like such a ding dong.  I swear, with a little guidance, I'll be a pro soon!

When you get to the campground, hook up to the water and run both hot and cold until the pink is gone and continue for a several minutes.

We don't drink campground water and always bring bottled water for coffee and drinking.

I love you for that advice!  Thanks so much!!!!  I will bring bottled water.  Another stupid question.  Where does the pink water go?

If you are hooked up to sewer, it will go down the sewer. If not, it will go into your "Grey water tank".

Same place the yellow and brown go!

Sorry, couldn't resist. I honestly don't know. I keep my PU in a finished garage where it doesn't freeze so I won't be putting antifreeze in it. I plan on blowing out the lines with an air compressor though and next season running bleach through the system a few times.

The pink antifreeze for RVs is non-toxic unlike regular vehicle antifreeze you'd put in the TV. I'm guessing it'd be safe to dispose of in the same places you'd get rid of bodily waste water.

Good luck on the maiden voyage.

I don't think your camper has a gray water holding tank, so you need to attach a container to the side of the PU to collect your drain water (and antifreeze) or if you have a sewer connection you will need a hose to run from your drain to the sewer.  Does you camper have a water heater?  If it does I should have been bypassed.  If it is there are several types of bypasses.  One style you have a short hose that you connect the water lines going into and out of the water heater.  If you have this type, unscrew the hose from the water lines and then attach the water lines to the water heater.  The other type has valves and stays permanently attached to the water heater.  For this type you turn 1, 2 or 3 valves (depends on the bypass) so that the water enters the water heater.  I always sanitize my water system.  It is easy to do and you can do it at the campground.  1/4 cup of bleach (regular not scented) mixed with a gallon of water.  Pour into your fresh water tank.  Fill the fresh water tank.  Pump bleach water through all of you water lines and into the water heater.  Let is sit for at least an hour.  Drain the bleach water out of the tank and lines, then flush the lines with fresh water.  Drain and your water system is sanitized and ready to use.  Have a great camping trip.:)
