we are planning to set out tomorrow morning and while setting up today (after many months left out in my friend's back yard) discovered that I have serious roof leakage again.

last time we put some marine sealant along the center seam, but a friend said that was not a good idea cos it was hard to remove.

is there a suitable caulk I can buy in Home Depot?  what type please?

need info ASAP as I am getting ready to leave the office.  my cell number is 305 606 8916

For a flat seam on the roof I'd go with an RV caulk that is self leveling. I don't think you can find that at Home Depot or Lowes.

I just got done doing the seams around the vents on our roof, it works it's way into the seams as well as covers them.

thanks... since there were  no replies by the time I left, I went to home depot and they recommended a silicone used for windows and sidings.

security stopped in this morning and told us we weren't allowed to have an rv in front of the house so we have to move it soon.

would the silicone i got not be good?

we ARE going near K&K RV store tomorrow morning and they used have the stuff you recommend.

it's raining practically every day, my brother has washed all the damp curtains and sheets, so we need to seal pronto.

I'd be reluctant to use a household silicone. The camper will be moving and there may be some flex involved. If the silicone doesn"t say flexable I'd pass on it.  Better to do it the right way once than the wrong way twice.

Starcraft says to use #999A Dow Silicone Sealer.  Lowe's or Home Depot will have a silicone cross reference chart in case they do not have the Dow product and you can get their equivalent. I've used the Dow 999A for my Starcraft and it works great and is easy to apply .... clean surface a must (use isopropyl alcohol ... I got the 70% stuff from Wal-Mart ... 60 cents a pint).
