92 Flagstaff - want to add Battery Power

My Flagstaff PUP has a converter with what appears to be a set of wires for an external battery source. What is the best way to set up the battery wiring?

Any ideas?  I'm only wanting enough power for a few lights, a radio and rechargeable flashlight.

Thanks

James

If the wiring is already there, it is just a matter of plugging your battery in.  If there is not a plug on the tounge of the trailer, simply run the 12V power wire from the converter to a plug on the tounge, ground it to the trailer, and wire it to the battery.  Now be advised that this will only power the lights in the trailer, not the outlets.  In order to power anything that uses 110 Amp, (ie. fan, radio, flashlight charger), you will need an inverter.  You can purchase a small inverter from your local auto parts store.  I purchased mine from AutoZone for approx. $40.  Make sure it is powerful enough to power what you intend to use.

Hope this helps.

I added a battery to my Flagstaff this year. On my PU the wiring harness included a wire from the TV back to the converter for 12v while driving (with a 7-way flat). I don't have my TV wired this way, so I just tapped into that wire (it was black - I believe) from the positive side of battery. The negative side can be grounded to the tongue using a bolt or screw. There was no where to mount a battery box on the PU either. I built a wooden shelf out of 5/4 board and 2"x4" scraps and mounted it behind the LP tank.

Once you look closely at the back of the converter, you'll be able to see which wires are the 12v wires. Just follow the one that goes into the wiring harness underneath the PU and you'll have it made.
