For all you campers out there, found this on another form and had to pass it on.....................

Would be a sight to see going down the highway

Here's a little lesson in how not to do things which seems to totally escape some people. I'd love to see how the trip ended up but I feel confident he ended up in a ravine somewhere wondering why bad things seems to always happen to him. He must rank in the top 3% of the "mentally-challenged" scale. He's hooked up and ready to fly!! It's amazing how the extra weight really smoothed out the ride in the truck. He did have to air up the rear tires a bit (around 160 psi) They better not try and turn an corner.

He added some heavy-duty chain for extra support on the tailgate (note that he used the "Heavy-Duty 'S' hooks to attach the chain) He also paid-up for some BIG 5/16 sheet metal screws to attach the frame to the tailgate. Yeah, he knows it's overkill, but he didn't want the possibility of having an accident.

Much of his time was spent on his front porch whittling down that MASSIVE 4x4 board to fit precisely into the ball mount receiver. Also note that he used a 14" piece of 1x4 to help distribute the load more evenly--"YOU CAN"T BE TOO SAFE, YOU KNOW!!". ?" It cost a little more, but you just can't be too safe when pulling a trailer of this magnitude  :eyecrazy: .

Look out Utah, cause here he comes  :yikes:

bad towing

He just needs a set of air shocks :p .

Actually, a WDH would be more entertaining.  I would love to see how he would rig one up.  Can someone go over and explain WDH's to him?  Maybe he would make his own WDH out of balsa wood...

Recumbentman: Did you take the pictures?  Was he really parked on a slope that steep?  I'd love to see him get moving...if he can.

As far as not camping in Utah, all you really need to know is when the trailer moved; it won't go far after that.

The funniest part would be to see him hit the gas the first time, to pull that thing up the hill. It appears to me that the front wheels may come off the ground and wedge the roof of the TV under the front of the trailer. :yikes:

BTW, the "S" hooks are hysterical but look at the flimsy sheet metal that they are hooked into.

That's a lot of work to go to, just for a bad joke. :eyecrazy: ........at least..........I hope it's a joke. :frosty:

Uh, didn't you live in Minnesota?  Then you ought to know that stupidity sometimes comes with immense creativity in the Midwest.  I don't think Utah qualifies as "Midwest," but maybe some things are starting to rub off on them...

Speaking as a native Californian, anything east of the I-5 is considered "back East" :sombraro:

Sure, but only to the Nevada border.  Beyond that you have places like Utah which are the Near East.  Further are the cornbelt states which I refer to as the Middle East.  Then comes the Atlantic Coast which is the Far East.

Midwest is Hawaii.  Southwest is Tahiti.  Deep South is Cabo.

I just hope the dumb driver of that Blazer got some money from CMT's Country Fried Home Videos show. http://www.cmt.com/shows/dyn/country_fried_home_videos/series.jhtml

Wayne's right.  That's what's known as a self-correcting situation...
