Has anyone camped at Lake Skinner (Riverside County)?

My brother is there now. Actually, they've been there for a week and he booked 4 sites for us, for Thanksgiving weekend.

Any advise on this CG would be appreciated. I've never heard of the place.

Wayne,

Brad and I drove through one time when we were in the area, I remember the lack of trees and a lot of dirt!...that was about it...I know it is a good fishing lake, Mom loves to go out for the day to fish there!

hated it.....

been there twice. First time wasn't as bad..this was pre-Dan & pre-kids ..so actually don't remember much.. :!

2nd time went with the YMCA indian group ..Hot ..no trees
they also lock the gate and yo can't get in. Our friend had to go to the ER and he had to leave his new camaro out by the gate. Luckily I was up to go retrieve him or he would have had a very long long walk.

We were at Lake Skinner in Sept for a dutch oven event a couple of years back. There are no trees and no shade - it will be very hot. Never fished there though. Good Luck.

Thanks for the feedback.

My brother emailed me some pictures. He had a lot of trees around him. I don't think that we will have a problem with heat in the end of Nov  :p .

We were at lake skinner labor day weekend 2006. 110 degrees my husband set up a mister system so it was okay.

Yes there is dirt but the kids rode bikes and played on the  big grass area. We hooked up a water slide and the kids loved it.
There aren't many trees it is true but there was fishing.
At night LOTS OF BUGS, SKUNKS AND DID I MENTION BUGS?

There were 20 of us altogether and there were some whiners. But when you asked the kids and the women; we had a blast.
