Memory foam anyone?

Thought this was a good deal and worth passing along....

Target has their 1-1/2" thick memory foam mattress toppers on sale for $20. They are part of Target's "O7 College Collection" for the back to school crowd, but they are not listed on their website. In fact, I couldn't even find them out on the floor at 2 of our local stores. I had to call, give them the part number and then they "found them in the back."

To give you an idea of price, Costco's 3" thick version is about $119, and other versions are in the $60+ range depending on density, thickness, brand, etc.

At 1-1/2" I don't know how these will be for adults to sleep on. Maybe just fine on top of your existing bunk mattress. We've already put a Queen 3" thick Costco one on ours (but scored it for $50), but wanted one for our daughter's full bunk. 1-1/2" will be perfect for a little tike.

Here's the part number for the full size: 062 23 0010 Even if that's not the size you need, that should at least get you in the right area.

(This info comes from other PUP owners on Popup Portal's forum, and a big thanks to them for giving me the numbers!)

Has anyone ever put these things UNDER the PU's bunkend mattresses?  If so, do they work that way?  I don't like them on top, but I think they'd add extra padding without the "poofy" feeling?

I had the 1 1/2" on the camper mattress along with egg crate. Alone the
1 1/2" didn't do much. (the density wasn't there)  I now have the 3" that was bought at Costco off our bed in the house (got a new bed and had no need for it)... BIG diff between the 2, it  truly falls into the category you get what you pay for.

Although at $20ea, you could stack 2 of them to get 3" and still be way ahead money against the $120 from Costco.

Not really, memory foam comes in density, by the lb. If it's not there you can stack 30"s and you'll still sink into it and wake up with an aching back. My back can tell the difference between the 2 foams. Pile it up and that's the more depth you can sink in to it as opposed to being supported by it. I liken it to sleeping on a broken down mattress. We did the 20 buck foam...it's not
worth it.

Well, like I said in my first post; it may not work for adults, but it'll be great for a little tike.

And at the risk of sounding crass, it may not have worked for you, but that doesn't me it won't for others.  I just laid down on it (it's not fully expanded yet), and it felt very nice....and I sleep on full blown memory foam bed every night.  The "adults" who posted the info on the other forum love the 1-1/2" version, as did many other "adults" who ran out and bought them for their PUPs.

It's not crass, just differing opinions. That's what we're here for right?

I also have a queen size memory foam mattress that I sleep on at home every night.  I LOVE it - and I have some serious back problems -

It did take some getting used to at first - especially since had slept on a motionless waterbed for almost 20 yrs.  But my chiropracter recommended the memory foam and it truly does support.  after a few nights that 'squishy' feeling isn't noticed anymore.

I can sleep on our camper's mattress, It's not bad as the previous owners added a second layer of foam - but I have plans to extend the double bed into a queen size - and I hoped to put a layer of memory foam on top, so thanks for the tip - I'll be calling Target tomorrow!

Tried it, didn't like it. Foam matteress works for me.
