slide out supports?

Our pup has a slide out dinette. Have been told by many of our rv friends that we should have support stands under our dinette. The dealership has no clue and the owners manual or the Fleetwood site has no info on this matter. What's your thoughts on this?

I have a Coleman Utah (02) the slide out has no supports and we have never experienced and situation where I thought maybe supports would be necessary.

I remember seeing some of the first popup with slide outs having supports under the slide out, but they have since been eliminated with stronger supports for the slide out.

Walk around any campground, and you will see nearly all RV's with slide outs do not have supports under them.

On the show RV Roadtrips on the DIY Network, on episode 11 at New Brighton,(our favorite episode), there was a Travel Trailer that had supports under the slide out that needed adjusting, but it was an older Travel Trailer.

Our 2001 Coleman/Fleetwood Niagara did not have supports under the slide out, and I never felt it needed them

In your case, they are wrong.

That's a big clue.  The manufacturers don't want a bunch of warranty claims, so if it was important (or even helpful), it would be all over the manual, and on stickers on both the inside and the outside of the slideout.

What's your thoughts on this?

There were a time when pop-up slideouts were very new.  They had all the support of a kitchen drawer, and could have been seriously damaged if weight were applied without support.  But that probably proved to be risky - if a user didn't provide enough support, or if they provided too much, damage would result.

In any case, all pop-up slideouts I know of in the last 10 years are meant to be self-supporting.

Your Arcadia is about the same as my Niagara--no supports needed on the slide.
