DW and I just joined the proud ranks of PUP owners. We were tent camping in the Pecos Wilderness (Jacks Creek Campground) and the folks in the next campsite had a new Flagstaff 12 foot HW camper. We had lots of rain. The folks next door were warm and dry, cooking inside, cold drinks from the refrigerator, shower and porta-potty inside, etc., etc. There we were in a leaky tent.

We came home and started looking for a PUP that we could tow with a 2000 Chrysler Concorde (2000 lb. limit, and that's pushing it). We came home last weekend with a 1994 Rockwood XL 1076.

We took it out this past weekend on a shake-down camp to see if we could make everything work without the dealer looking over our shoulders. It was great!

Most everything worked. I've still got to figure out how to make the refrigerator work on propane (couldn't light the pilot for some reason). The stove works great, so I know I have gas. Also, sometime before winter I need to figure out how to light the furnace.

I have the original owner's manual, but it's for the entire Rockwood line and not too helpful.

Yes, welcome to the forum and to PUP's!

Take a visit to the "Mr. Fixit" forum and look through the archives there.  If you don't find answers, ask.  Lots of knowledgeable and friendly folks.

You might try a BBQ lighter to get that fridge pilot going.  Hold down the safety valve (which may just be your gas valve's round dial) and then use the BBQ lighter to light the burner.  Once lit, keep pushing down the valve for about 15-30 seconds to heat the thermocouple, and then let go.  On some valves you may have to turn it to "on" after that.  Might be an instruction plate right there by the fridge controls?

That's what I used. The problem seems to be that there is no gas flowing to the frig. I can't hear any gas flowing at all. I do have gas to the stove, which works well, just not to the frig. I can't see any other shutoff near the controls.

May have to purge the air from the lines. it may not have been used for a while. just keep trying with the lighter. look for kinks in the line between regulator and the fridge.
