What Popup Brands besides Fleetwood can take a WDH?

I currently own a 2000 Fleetwood Seapine and tow with a Honda Odyssey using the Reese 350 WDH.  I am definitely thinking about upgrading and would need my next popup to be able to use the Reese 350 WDH.  I am thinking about a 12' foot popup with a front trunk. (Must have a front trunk!)  I am seeing quite a few Jayco's in my neighborhood an am wondering if they are compatible with the Reese 350?  Is there a simple way to tell?

The larger and top of the line Starcrafts will handle it. Best to call their Tech Services just to confirm whatever model that might be an interest.

We use a WDH with our Starcraft 13RT.

I believe the mini 350 is universal and should work on just about any A frame style tongue depending on where your tongue jack mounts. If for what ever reason it does not work, you could check out this WDH made just for PUPs

Why don't you contact Jayco and find out right from the horse's mouth?

My '98 Jayco Eagle 10 UD owner's manual says, "After choosing your tow vehicle, it is very important to install a hitch system with weight distributing bars to accommodate your coach."

That doesn't mean necessarily that all Jaycos can use WDH, but all the Eagle ones in '98 could.

Edit: Contact service@jayco.com to be sure of any Jaycos. A Robert Johnson responded to my last inquiry.

I have a 1995 Jayco ~ Jay series ~ you cannot use a WDH with it.  I contacted Jayco directly and they were very quick with a response.

The issue isn't whether you can install it.  The issue is that for a WDH to work, it puts some relatively high forces on the trailer tongue and the tow vehicle frame.  Some frames will not stand up to those forces and will be damaged.

That is why you must be sure it is OK to use a WDH with both your trailer and your tow vehicle.

I'm in doubt about my own Jayco, even though it says what it does in the owner's manual. When I sent an email to them to verify that I could use a WDH, they responded back that my trailer was light enough that I shouldn't have to use a WDH. They didn't actually say I couldn't do it.

One reason I sort of question what the manual says is that my a-frame is c-channel, not boxed like I understand the Colemans/Fleetwoods are.

I hate it when things aren't crystal clear!

The C-channel A-frame usually tells the story. Don't know about the larger Jayco models, but the heavy end Starcrafts have the tube or boxed A-frames. I've had a few conversations with the tech folks at Starcraft and my present PU has the C-channel A-frame and they were very emphatic about it ... No WDH for me! There's even concern about sway control mechanisms ... if I install one of those I need to have a backing plate to cover the C-channel opening.
