Speed Traps in your area

I checked a couple towns I know well, and recognized some of the speed traps listed.

I don't really agree with that website nor do I flash my lights to other drivers to warn them of a police patrol ahead. Although I am far from a driver who abides by the posted speed limit, I don't go too much over that often and if I do, I am ready to suffer the consequences.

The state highway in my rural area is used by a lot of people from all over the place going to more populated areas. The interstate nearby is the same - people traveling from NYC to Montreal or vice versa. Many cars that are pulled over for speeding result in arrests for DWIs, drug possession and/or in some cases illegal residents. So, I figure let the people who are speeding get pulled over and let the police do their job.

I also checked out a couple of speed traps in my area and they were listed.

One of the areas has a speed variation from 35 mph to 50 mph to 35 mph to 40 mph to 50 mph, all within about 4 miles then it jumps to 55 mph.  You have to watch the speed limit signs in this whole area.

Worst section is the 40 mph section which is down a steep hill.  Takes a lot of riding on the brakes to keep a truck and trailer down to that speed but the police love to be at the bottom of the hill.

This is the type of speed trap that bothers me.

A state legislator got a speeding ticket there and caused quite a ruckus.  He tried to get the speed limit raised but it didn't go through.
