Electric Brakes Problem

We have a Colman Cheyenne 2000.  All of the sudden the electric brakes dont work at all.   The little box under the steering wheel seems to be fine the red light goes on when i press on the break, and our cars break lights go on when i press the button on the box.

First question is does anybody know why this is not working.

Second question is we are planning on a camping trip this weekend, is it safe to drive without the electric brakes working.

Thanks
Jamie

As for driving with the brakes inop, check your states laws concerning weight requirements on trailer brakes.

What is your tow vehicle and how much does you PU weigh?

Will you be doing any mountain driving?

Nothing technical here....mine too didn't work once, and all else did, so checked the connection on the plug and sure enough there was gunk on it.  Took a toothpick to clean out the gunk, and squirted a little di-electric (sp) grease on it and re-inserted it in the tow vehicle plug and it worked!

Maybe your problem will be so simple.  I now wrap the pigtail plug with a baggie when not in use to keep stuff from getting on it.

Hope this helps.
