We can in Minnesota, too...anybody who thinks you can't has never seen the tent cities (and trailers and even cabins) that spring up on some of the lakes during ice fishing season.

I was out last weekend at a pop-up rally.  DW is camping this weekend (w/o the pop-up) with a group of teens.  At least one of us will be out again this year.

But you Californians are too wimpy to even imaghine that camping in -25

I really don't think we have an off season. I was born in Cali and will die in Cali....

Quote from: dkutzyeah no thanks I will pass.  I have NEVER been in that cold of weather, not sure I would want to.  I did just see an Airstreem listed with ice fishing holes in its floor!  ah ha

It's better than the heat I've seen in parts of the southwest, that's for sure.  I thought I would have a hard time adapting when I moved out from Massachusetts, but it took maybe two weeks.

I would die before living in SoCal... :yikes:

Florida is FAR worse, though.  I will die before I even VISIT Florida in the summer again.

You needed to put one more option on the poll.
One that says to get away from the crowds.

We love winter camping.

Next weekend is Hatteres, NC.10/19-10/22    4 Days.

In December 1 week in Bethany Beach DE.

Can't wait till the annual Feburary trip to Western MD.(SNOW) :D

I used to say that about Massachusetts.  PJay said that about me in Massachusetts.

Now that I've actually left, the only reason I'll go back is for weddings and funerals...and NOT my own.
