Just returned from Rocky Mountain National Park

Wow what a trip.

Even though we didn't camp, this was a great trip. Next time I will be camping in the park. The weather was from one extreme to the other.

The weather was from one extreme to the other.

We spent one day (and two nights) in RMNP.  We found the weather all over the place as well, seeing sun, rain, fog, hail, and snow in one day.

It's one of those places we have to go back and spend more time.  :cool:

I spent almost a whole month there a few years back, going from one creek and stream to the other, looking for that ideal place to catch all the trout. Then I did'nt get to visit half the places I intended to see. You need to spend the entire summer in a place like that!

Great pics! I'm waiting 'til the smallest kids are a bit older but I'd love to spend a full week there.  Glad you had a good trip.

We were there for a week in Aug.  We had good weather, cold, rain, and picture post card perfect just about every day.  I did a lot of huffing and puffing.  But all the scenery was worth it.  The ranger lead hikes were excellent.  Old Fall River Road is highly recommended.

The National Park CGs don't have electric sites.  OK if you are only going to be there a day or two.  We stayed at Stillwater, a National Forrest CG with electric near Grand Lake.  The nights were quite chilly, and the heater go a work out.  Good sites, hot showers, a great view of the lake and the mountains beyond.
 
To paraphrase a commercial, you gotta put Rocky Mountain National Park on your list.
