I just got a 2006 f150 5.4 liter fx4 off road. I was towing a starcraft with a ranger. The hitch I have is a straight bar. Should I get one of the ones that have a downward bend in it now? Thanks

FYI, a correction, I should have said straight ball mount in my posting above.

Five ~ you'll want to tow the PU as level as possible. If having to choose rather it's a tad high or a tad low, I'd choose the trailer tongue being a tad low.

Get your rig out in the middle of some level parking lot and you'll get a better idea where your at. I'd unhitch the PU, and get it as level as possible using the front tongue jack - measure from the top of the frame in the rear and then in the front and as soon as the measurements agree, then measure from the top of the coupler to the ground and that is the hitch height for your camper. You can pretty well measure out your truck's hitch height and what's needed from there.
