Help with Elec brake wiring

Upon further examination I have found that the wires for my elec brakes are not hook up. They are dangling over the passenger side wheel. The previous owners must have unattached them for some reason. The problem is I can't see any place where they would reattach. I looked at the wiring diagram for the trailer but it's no real help. I don't know if I have to remove the outer panels to get to the wiring or what. You would think I would be able to see where the wires that are dangling were cut from. Can anyone help?

The previous owner may have wanted the factory plug. He may have cut the wires, where you see them dangling and removed everything from that point back.

If that's the case, all you need to do is hard-wire in a new 7-pin connector.

This may help:

You will need to get the approprite size and color wires from your local auto parts store and attach them with (heat-shrink) solderless connectors (available at most marine hardware stores):

The wires are attached to the brakes but along the axle in the middle is where they are dangling. My neighbor suggested just running a wire from there to the pigtail. I could do that but there are two wires there. One I know is the elec brake based on the diagram that you had linked and that I had been looking at already. Could the other wire be a ground or could it go to the disconnect brake?

Sorry.....I misunderstood your post. I thought that you were talking about your TV for some reason :morning: .

You may find that the wire just got cut. That happened to mine a few weeks ago. You may find a wire near the brakes that isn't connected. If it's like mine was, it's just a matter of splicing the 2 ends together.

Do you have a picture of the wires?

There really should be two blue wires going into each brake backer plate (that's two wires on each side).

Brakes are not self-grounding (don't have an internal chassis connection) and need two wires at the wheel to work.

I'll try to get a picture. There are two wires going to each brake.

In response to Wavery, I don't see any place the wires were cut from. There isn't anything to splice them to.

What color are the wires?
