OC Campers

Well I was 1 minute too late today.   I walked into our electronics dept today and they were in the process of selling the last Wii.  If I had only gotten there a few seconds earlier.     They don't know when they will get more.  But I will keep my eyes open.

Dont know what they retail for but Ebay has them starting at $255.00 with bids up to $600.00 with 14 games + 4 controllers.

I can't believe with all our SCCamers that work at wally worlds, best buys, target etc. that no one has a buddy in the electronics dept that can give you a call when they come in

I actually DO know someone who works electronics at Target.  She knows they are coming in the 18th, but she has to wait in line in the morning like everyone else.....no special treatment.

I think Jacqui said it best, when she said that you have to be there at the right time! Yes I do have the receiving dept. and electronics mgr. on the look out but there are so many folks who also want them whether it be associates or customers.
The shipments come in either Fedex or UPS. We never know when they are going to arrive. If there is a shipment and there happens to be an assistant mgr. there who wants to take them to the sales floor or hold them in the mgr's office we don't find out till it's too late. Christmas is a very crazy time in retail. I have not been in my dept. all of last week. All dept. mgrs. are working the seasonal areas to ensure the product is out there for the customers.
This item is so closely monitored it's not funny. Trina, it might be a good idea to PM your cell phone number to me.

Quote from: Camping CoxesOkay. The kids are ganging up on us this Christmas -- actually, they're cooperating with each other, and have asked for a Nintendo Wii system for Christmas as a joint gift. Problem is, we can't find one.

If any of my local SCCamper friends happens upon one when you're out and about, grab it for me! I'm sending out my SOS!!!

did  you ever find one?

Nope.  Pretty much have decided we won't be getting one and moved on to getting other gifts.

ATTENTION:  The search is off.  The kids are getting other stuff, and even if we found one now, we've spent all our loot on the other stuff.  But thanks to all my SCCamper friends for trying!

Trina, we finally got our WII on ebay. You may want to check it out.

Dave went and picked it up from the seller (local guy) so we ended up only having to pay $50.00 more than retail. It was worth the $50 not to have to stand in line for 6 hours and then (with my luck) miss getting a unit by one person!

We've spent our wad on other options.  David got a "boomin' stereo" for his truck.  We already gave it to him, because we coudn't figure out how to wrap the stereo and the installer so he could open it Christmas morning, plus we figured the installer's wife might have a problem with it!  Emily's getting a very nice digital camera -- better than mine, by the way -- for her DC trip in March.  Plus all the other little stuff they get.

But thanks for the thought.  And I'm with you -- $50 is worth not standing in line.

Only $50 is not bad, considering once we got a Wii, all the new games and accessories we had to get for it.
It only comes with 2 controllers and 1 nunchuck, so we had to get 2 more controllers($80) and 3 more nunchucks, along with color co-ordinated sleeves for each,( so everyone has their own controllers).
Then the games are $50 each, except for Dance, Dance Party Revolution for $70 and Guitar Hero III at $90.
I think I am out an additional $750 so far, so in the whole picture of things, an extra $50 is not bad.

I must say it is a lot of fun, (except getting trashed by a 7 year old on most of the games) :)
