Can you tell that the pop up is just now getting the attention it needs...I have so many sudden questions?

Our new (but used) 2001 Bayside is up in our driveway...first time up in the year that we have owned it.

To the left of the fridge (has not been on) is a compartment where the previous owner stored the sheets etc.... I just went in there to remove what is there and to wash them. I removed a package of new toilet paper that had mildew on it from the side that touched the front end of the compartment and shares a wall with the sofa at the beginning of the bed.
I threw away the paper obviously and was just about to close the compartment when I noticed that wall was wet...about 75% of it. It appears to be fresh wetness however we have no idea where it has come from.

The fridge has never been turned on...there is no toilet in it, no shower in it.

This is our first introduction to a non tent and we just don't know where to begin or what to do with this.

I removed the drawer that is under the sofa and it had what appeared to be white powder all over it that removed very easily with a damp cloth. Hubby thinks that is mold and I do not. It removed easily, no smell and appears to have zero damage.

Long story longer...the water appears to be only on the wall of this compartment from the floor up that divides the wall from the sofa wall.

This is an inside picture of a modern Bayside, slightly different than ours.
But the wall from the cabinet and the sofa combination might help.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

:book:  It would be best if you kept your subject in one thread so that others can follow it and offer more educated help. :sombraro:

As I stated in the previous thread, check the roof to box seal. If that's the problem, it is an easy fix.

Also, check to see if the roof is even with the box when it is lowered. Check for slight cracks or warping in the roof. This could be an indication of a very serious roof problem that year Fleetwood/Coleman (with ABS roof) is noted for.

As for the "White powder"....my $ is on baking soda (to absorb odor) placed there by the previous owner. ;)

Thank you Wavery, I did not realize that my subject was the same...I assumed I had two different things going on and both were found at different times of the day hence the different questions.

It did have a crack we just noticed. It was above the left rear break light and not the roof...but it is where the roof and seal sit on.
We think the previous owner backed into something and caused it.

We are trying to dry it out and then will deal with it from there.

Thank you!!!!!

Our 1999 Utah had the dreaded roof sag.

The first thing we noticed was that the rubber seal around the roof seemed to be coming loose.  Then we noticed the extra bedding that traveled in the floor of the popup was damp when we set up.

We were baffled, then we took the popup in for annual inspection and the dealer told us he could see the sag.  Apparently when the middle sags the ends no longer fit tight.

We had ours replaced when Fleetwood was still covering the cost.  Now they only cover replacement but not shipping for the original owner.  I believe there is no relief for a second owner, so I sincerely hope that is not the problem with yours.

Do you have an air conditioner?  If you do is it in the area that is wet?

We do have an AC but have not had it on...
We think it was a crack that we just noticed that was over the taillight...it would make sense because when folded down the crack would lead to that compartment.

Since I am all new to this I hate to admit when I saw the water in the compartment I was clueless to how it got there...I forgot how that compartment really is the wall of the box when folded down.

We have tucked it into bed so I am hoping we nipped it in the bud...I had my husband remove the little side wall to that compartment since it was wet and had mildew, it only led to the sofa so it was not structural.

Thank you all,
