Too much awning?

What do you guys think:

10' long "Fiamma" brand awning for my '87 Starcraft Nova.  It's an older version of what they still build, which I like because the fabric is tan and brown so it would match the Starcraft perfectly.

However, it weighs 50lbs (at least) and is one of those aluminum box models that you crank out with a hand crank.  It has 2 built-in arms that automatically fold out into horizontal supports and then 2 more built-in arms that come down and go diagonally back to the bottom edge of the camper wall.

2 concerns I have.  1) it's too heavy  2) there's probably no getting around the fact that it's 3 mount brackets must be bolted THROUGH the side wall of the roof.

I'd appreciate your input..........and if I don't keep it, anybody in California want it?  It sure is nice!

I'd suggest you check with http://www.fiammausa.com/ for info on the awning. IIRC they have about 20 different attachment variations for those awnings including again IIRC a way to attach them to a standard C channel awning rail.
As for the weight Even with an AC you ar at or under the 150 pound open weight limit for the roof. You just won't be able to add any roof racks or add their electric motor option for remote awnig opening/closing.

Good suggestion.  I guess I'll give 'em a call after the holidays and see what they say.  Definately a cool awning, but I don't want to look like Fred Flinstone when the car hop puts a Brontosaurus Burger on the side and flips his rig over!

I keep hoping to score a bag awning off of an old school camper, come close, but no luck as yet.
