Wally world now has all of the electric heaters on clearance.  They also had a Big Buddy propane heater.  Regularly $120.00 for $80.00.

My Walmarts don't have the heaters on sale yet, however, Lowes does, and they are all 50% off.  I got my second kerosene heater the other day.

Home Depot also has propane heaters on clearance. I got a DynaGlo Double Tag-A-Long heater today for $55.00 down form $125.00!! It was the display and missing a few cosmetic parts, but I could not pass up that price!!

I posted this in General, but only got 1 response. What heats a pop-up the best that's electric?

    hello,
i don't know about the best.  but we're going to use electric for the first time this year. i bought ceramics ( holmes 2 in a box ) on clearence. though the big buddy i barrowd warmed up my tent pretty good. starting to think that propane is for cooking. electric is the way to go for heat, we'll see.
also electric blankets might be in the future too.

I'm sore that I can't use a Big Buddy heater, as most of the places I go would trigger the auto-shutoff low-oxygen safety feature due to the altitude, (anything 6000' above sea level may set iit off).  I purchased one last year on sale at CW, only to return it after going camping in the local mountains, (6500 feet above sea level).

Anyhow, if you are a flatlander, you can pick one up for $58.63 including free shipping at Amazon ! :)

We camp year 'round but mostly boondock. If I do have a hook up, we bring a small, thermostatically controlled, fan heater. The relative isolation of the bunk ends makes a fan-driven heater more preferable to radiant heaters. In really cold weather, we fire up the furnace, knock the chill down, then go to the electric to maintain.

you bring up a couple good points. still in trial and error stage. only camped in our camper twice last year, all other times we tented. Last place we camped was a state park and got lucky to get a spot with hook ups. used our furnace and ran out of propane the last night. lucky that some one in our group had an extra tank. thats when i decided on electric heaters.

I picked up a ceramic heater at Wally world for $20 marked down from $65. Kids were happy since I ripped out the furnace in the pup!
