Dale

HI,
I am new to this post and have read a lot about choices on pop ups.

I have decided to go for the Evolution camper but would like to ask any of you that have an Evolution a question about the weight of the EV 1 verses the EV2

I will be pulling it with my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder or My Wife's 2005 Xterra

I noticed that the E2  has a heavier tongue weight listed and I am concerned about the larger front deck etc.  I won't be using 4 wheelers, so I really don't need the extra deck on the front.  The E2 however has a shower etc.

Just curious about your experiences with the Evolution trailers..

thanks,
Dale

I have the E1 *Edit: Sorry, we have the E3...the biggest one until the E4 was released. We have quads but we don't use the deck to carry them. We put all kinds of storage on the deck and it works great. I tow with a 2007 Tacoma Quad cab with a tow rating of 6500# and a weight distribution hitch. It tows great with that set-up.

Overall, we're very happy and have really enjoyed the camper. We took it out 7 times in the second half of last summer including our final trip over Thanksgiving. The temps were below freezing and we were snug.

Good luck with your choice.

Dale,
the dry weight of the e1 is 2,285 lbs and the e2 is 2,545 lbs. i dont have one but  deal with them alot (i work at tom johnson camping center). we dont ever really order any e1's but we have 2 e'2s, we seem to have alot more luck with the e2's, there is more storage and cargo carrying capacity with the e2. Not to mention the shower and toilet combo. let me know how your search goes and good luck!
