This may be a silly question but being new I want to make sure that I follow proper cg etiquette. Is it ok to dump your cassette potty in the sewer of you full hook up site or should you bring it to the dump station?

OC Campers

If we have full hookups we always dump the cassette in the sewer connection.  We also have a connection so that you can have your gray water go directly into the sewer.

Thanks Jacqui. I personally didn't think there was anything wrong with it but wanted to check. I know that sometimes what seems normal to one may not be so to someone else. I saw someone had posted a picture of the type of hookup that you are talking about for the gray and I plan to get one of those.

I do the same thing.  If I have a full hookup site (or a friend does) I dump my cassette into it.  It is the same thing the RVs with a holding tank do.  I also have the foam donut with the plastic garden hose adapter to drain my grey water directly into the sewer system.:)

I guess as long as you don't spill it all over the place, it's OK. I've seen people get pretty sloppy at the Dump Station, but most of the time the area is somewhat pitched toward the opening, just a quick hose down and the mess is gone.....unlike most Sewer hook up sites.

I have seen people with on board black water tanks make a mess dumping their black water tanks on their RVs.  I don't let the kids near the sewer connection.:(

Most dump stations have a concrete catch basin funnelling to the opening and a hose handy. Campsite sewer hook ups poke out of the ground and are surrounded by grass. I always opt for the larger target where an oops isn't as hard to deal with.
