We have been to San Elijo four times now.  This last weekend was our first time with the PUP.  As always we loved it.  Near Encinitas and Cardiff by the Sea it is a Large beach side campground, with great views and a beautiful beach.  The kids enjoy playing in the water, and exploring the tide pools at low tide.  Bathrooms are clean and showers are coin op, but HOT and clean.

Sites are on the large side for the most part, but not all are BIG, but some are HUGE. 29 Hookup sites, 9 water side.  If you don't mind Dry camping( for a better selection of sites), the Ocean side is the best, right on the cliffs with a great view.  All sites have Table and Firepit.

Only draw back is the noise of Coast Hwy, and the train.  If you stay on the bluff side the noise is reduced, and tolerable, given the location.

This place fills up fast, so get on Reserveamerica if you want a site.

Heres a map....

You got that right!  I wanted to get a beach site for September.  So March 1st at 8:00 I started clicking the reserve now button in the Reserve America site and still didn't get my site.  So i started to panic and got another site for the following week, which is still a beach site.  But I was astounded by how fast all the beach front sites were gone.  In a matter of seconds most of the beach front sites were filled for ALL of September!
