Motion detector light

Ok at the RV show in Phx, i bought a Rv motion detector light that replaces the porch light. When i got home i found out that my light had a switch on it and the new one does not, so i have to wire a switch in inside, i have found the wires for it under the bench, i just need info on wiring it up thanks.

Hey,  AzRon.
Last summer we had a family of skunks messin around in the bushes a couple of yards from the PUP and I really did not like the idea of opening up the door to turn the lignt on. So, I thought it would be kinda cool if I could turn the porch light on and off from the inside of the PUP. Went down to the local RV parts dealer today and bought 2 very nice double rocker switches. I pulled out the single switch that works the water pump and installed the double, one switch for the pump the other for the outside light. Very simple to do, White wire is ground, leave it alone. Black wire is Hot, run it into the switch and then back to the fixture.  
I also replaced the switch that turns on the inside lights from the doorway with the double switch and wired the stereo so I can cut all power to it off.
I'll snap a couple of pics tomorrow before I close up the PUP.

Are you talking about the SmartLight? If so, you should be able to use the same switch already installed inside your RV. That light simply replaces the old porch light, but uses the same switch and wiring. Hope that helps!

Jason welcome to PUT.  The patio light on most if not all Coleman/Fleetwood trailers is on the light, not inside the camper.  That is why Ron was asking about wiring a switch.

AzRon,  Can you tell me a little more about the motion detector you purchased (price and availability over the internet).  I installed a 110 volt version on my E3 which cost $15 or less.  However,  I know someone that has been looking for a 12 volt version and the ones I found were in the $90 plus price range  (e.g. the Smart Light).

Oh, I see. Thanks for the clarification. I'm used to the one we have, but I have seen those that have the switch right on the light. In that case, he Ron would need to wire it in. Sorry for the confusion.

I saw a member ask abbout the 12 volt light. You can get it at //www.starlightsinc.com. It's not cheap, but they are great quality and even include a battery monitoring system.

 Think I'll just stick with what I got and maybe ad a switch to the inside of camper.

Thanks....  I think I'll just keep my reco  to use a 110 volt version as I can't justify them charging a $100 for it.

BTW, I just saw a neat little LED motion detector light in a Northern tool catalog for $4.99.  However, I suspect it is probably more like a night light for a bath room versus an outside light... but I'll find out soon.
