Adding A/C

We would like to add A/C to our camper (1994 Jayco Eagle 12) and was wondering how I can tell if the roof will handle the weight. I have the owners manual but it doesn't cover that. It just talks about if you have the A/C option how to run it. A buddy that owns a pop up said that if the roof isn't braced for it then I will have to add braces in the inside.

If you do add an AC, please remember to use a gasket and add bracing to make sure your roof doesn't sag or dip.

The forums are full of people who have had issues with gaskets failing or not enough bracing causing roof damage.
