Is it cold up there this time of year?

campinfool

it was in the low 70's today and sunny and beautiful! There was an 80% chance of t-storms though, I was I could be a meteorologist, I can be wrong and still have a job!

Ya'll are up there by now.  I wish I was there.  It turned out nice for you today.  Good luck with the storms tomorrow.  Post and let us know how it went.

Just got back from this trip.  The weather could have been better.  It was raining lightly almost all of the time and it was just a little chilly.  However, it was great meeting some new campers.  We were treated to a free breakfast on Saturday morning and we did get to share a meal together on Saturday night.  Everyone brought their own meat & sides and used the big grill provided by the campground.

I would like to thank Campinfool (Duncan) for the excellent job he did in making us all feel welcome.  He put a lot of effort into this weekend and was always available to us.  He even lined up some entertainment on Saturday evening.  Tom Johnson's is a nice campground with first class facilities and Duncan gave us free reign over all of it.  Thanks Duncan, for a job well done!  We appreciated it!

Let's do this again!  :D

Does anybody have pics? I always enjoy others' pics.

The rain kinda hurt us a little bit but, I still had a good time. Thanks to everyone who came, this was #1 and next year will be even better, with a little more time to plan it! Denbert, it was great to meet you and your wife and look forward to camping with you some more, but next time hopefully around a campfire and not a grill under the drive in at the service center! Anyway, I am planning next years already. Anyway like nc camper says, a rainy day camping is better than a good day at work!

Is that facility near by and owned by a large RV dealership?  If so, did they come out and hit on you while staying there?  I was just curious.  I like the idea of the Rally, and would like to go to rally of PUPs.  I'll try to make it next year.  We're tired of going to places that are all buses, and 5W, or worse Park Models.  I think it would be cool to see a sea of PUP's.

it is owned and on the property of one of the largest dealers in the nation, and i work for that dealer in the sales department. However we are not a car dealership so we do not "hit you up" for sales. you are free to look around if you like, but we never harass anybody, this is a camper store where you go to look at recreational vehicles to enjoy your time off, why would we be pushy?

denbert

I can verify that.  My wife and I have visited this dealer several times and camped there twice.  At no time did we ever feel any pressure.  Because of that, I'm 90% certain we'll buy our next RV there.  I've also heard many good reports of "after the sale" service.  In fact, someone from the service department even came over while I was camped there, at my request, and helped me with my hot water heater at no charge.   :)

Great!  I'm looking for a better dealership to do business with.  I am currently doing business with Hawley's.  They are not treating me right.  I am a sales manager and consider myself to be a sales professional as well.  I like the marketing idea and I respect any sales organization that is not into hard-closing.  I am a smart buyer and want what I want, but I am not afraid to pay for what I want.  We'll get in touch at some point this summer.  Send me your info.
