Hello All

We are new to the forum and new to Pop-Ups and so far this site is FULL of information and tons of helpful people. Most of my questions have been answered by previous posts but I still have a stumper. We are redoing the roof and are trying to replace the vent. Every place we look we can find a 14" Vent but we can't seem to find a 12" to replace ours. We don't really want to cut a hole in it so can anyone tell me a good place to find this part and any others I might come accross in the future?

Thanks!

We have a 1976 Starcraft Venture with a 9X9 an I just cut the roof to the 14X14 standard.  It was cheaper and easier then I thought.  Don't be scared to cut into your popup. I found a little spongy wood around ours and when I cut all sides for the 14X14 I had good wood.  This was easier for us because we gained a lot more air movement.  For you this is what I would do too.

Welcome to PUT!

We're always glad to welcome a new friend to the campfire! (especially to those special few who have vintage Starcrafts!  I'd LOVE to see photos of yours!)

Try this place:

Also, don't forget E-Bay and local internet exchange groups - it's really common to find someone who is trashing an old PUP to make a flatbed trailer out of and it still may have lots of useable parts!  I've got replacement light covers that match my old 1973 Starcraft, and a Dometic fridge to install this spring, for FREE, from just getting out the word among all my friends that I was refurbishing an old camper.

While you're 'fixin up' - post some photos of your projects - we LOVE to see ideas we can steal (er, borrow!)

Thanks for your help everyone!

I checked the websites and still couldn't find anything so I either had the ONLY pup with a 12' in roof vent or I was looking for the wrong size..........of course it was me! DUH!

After prying the old cracked vent out and remeasuring the OPENING and not the actual vent I found the right size 9 1/2 by 9 1/2 in the RV store.

Thanks for the websites and information I bookmarked them and I can see us using them a lot in the future.

Thanks again!
