Rear wall came loose. (2001 Coleman Cheyenne)

Hello

This past weekend, we went camping to the beach.  When we arrived at the campground, and were getting ready to raise the top, I noticed a large gap between the rt. side of the camper, and the right/rear of the camper.  After looking closer, I found that both sides of the rear panel were free.  The bottom edge is still attached, but both sides are not attached.  I can push and pull the spare tire, and it will move the whole wall in or out.

Has anybody had to repair this type of problem?  I have no idea how this happened, or why, but I do know that I need to fix it.

I want to replace the rear ABS panel while at it. It has cracks that run from the screws to the edge.  I've done all the suggested repairs, but the cracks just come back.  (Ground up some matching ABS, mixed with pvc pipe glue, and put on cracks.)  They mended for a while, but came back.

This camper is a 2001 Coleman Cheyenne camper with very little use.  The tags still hang from the window zippers, just like the day we bought it.  I didn't care for the counter tops and table, so I had new ones made from cabinet grade 3/4" oak plywood, and matching edge finishing.  These look much nicer than the original fiber board / plastic trim table and counters.

Any helpful advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  We love the camper, and wanted it to last us another 3 or 4 years.  Maybe it heard us talking about a desire to someday have a 5th-wheel travel trailer, instead of a pop-up.

Thanks,

SNielsen
