I was at the local RV dlr and told him what I had.I wanted to know if there is any prevented maintanence i could do to prolong the lift system on my Duck.He said there wasn't anything and that they weren't the best systems out there. Is there any danger signs to watch for.I have been investing alot of time in this unit.I just don't want to miss something I could have prevented from breaking.I do notice that it skips a little when cranking also makes a stressful type moan. Are lift systems expensive and hard to install? Thanks Again..

I don't know anything about a Dutchman PU, except I've seen a couple or so in campgrounds or on the road. Why don't you give these folks a shout and see if they can help you ... there have been a couple of different postings here in times past where they helped.

Fly is right. Click on his link and read about the Goshen lift system. We have a 95 Dutch 1002xs and we do this every spring before our first trip out. So far so good no problems! The skip or hop is just the cable slipping on the crank, nothing to be concerned about.
