Hello,

Has anyone stayed at this campground?  Cherry Hill Park in College Park MD?  We are thinking of staying here for April vacation (25th through May 3rd)  and would like some kind of feedback from campers.  We are located in NH so we cannot personally check it out.  Any information would be helpful.  Thanks!!!

I live fairly close (within 50 miles), but have never actually been there.  For sightseeing the DC area - it's rated tops as metro is right there!  And from all I've read, it has all amenities.

You can get reviews of the campground at:  //www.rvparkreviews.com

Enjoy your trip!

Greenbelt NP is a better bet, that is if you do not mind dry camping. Less noisy, NOT on top of the expressway.
Metro is about a mile from the park entrance.  The Greenbelt Station.  Free metered parking after 10:00AM, also the better metro rates.

Unlike most NPs. this one has HOT showers.  2 buildings to a loop.

Giselle,
Was curious if you did go to this park . . . or did you choose another one? We are possibly going to be staying at this park during the Thanksgiving weekend - and having Turkey at a friends house close by - so we are not doing one of those "drop it in the bucket" incinderary (sp?) fires. We have those solar panels that go onto exposed canvass bed extension and the slideout kitchen area - so the ceramic block heater we have wil keep the interior way to warm.

Is the park real close to a highway? Not sure whether I am getting use to campgrounds being beside railroads or highways, but must admit it is nice if we can hear the birds chirping (maybe not in Nov?)
Thanks
Dave

The DH and I were there last Nov. for our 20th Wedding Anniversary Trip to see the Washington DC sites for the first time.  Considering that many of the campgrounds in the area were closed for the season, there were not too many other options for us.  However, we were looking for someplace that had good access to the Metro so that we could get into DC easily.  The Bus stops right at the campground office and takes you to the Metro rail.
If you are looking for privacy and seclusion, it is not the place.  We were the only Pop-up in the campground, - just big rigs -but not really very many of them, coinsidering the time of year.  One of the big rig owners did caution my DH that we had better watch out that "those things" tend to grow on you.  Meaning our ALiner would grow into a big diesel pusher some day.  -LOL
But with the price of gas, I think that little Aliner will stay for a while.  We stayed warm and cozy considering the temps got down to the freezing mark while we were there.
The campground facilities were clean , with nice hot showers, so for a quick trip and convience, yes I would go there again without hesitation.
Just remember, you are not out in the wilderness when you go there, -its not going to feel like you are sitting in the woods while you gaze into a campfire.
We did not use the fire ring anyway, we were so exhausted from all the walking every day.  -That may be why the surrounding road traffic did not seem to bother us.
Also we never spent any time at the campground during the day.  It was basically just a place to crash at night.
I say go see your friends and eat Turkey, just "Camp" someplace else along the way for the relaxation experience.

Hi Dave,

We didn't end up camping here.  We opted to go to the Ocean City, MD area.  Stayed at Frontier Town, which in season looks like a great campground.  Unfortunately we were there way too early in the season to enjoy their amenities.
