We are going for the week, June 22-27.  Does anyone know with the recent rains how it is?  I called the tourism center, and they say that 90% of the business' are open, and all but one road it passable.  Is it still going to be a vacation?, or more work trying to deal with the flood waters.  We are located in central Indiana, we are just miles north of the bad flooding.  God Bless those are lost everything.

Aside from the flooding issue, has anyone ever camped at Holiday Shores?  Is it a nice campground, and are the kids going to enjoy the week.  Will we/they enjoy the Dells?  Any thoughts/input on must do activities while we are there?  Have already planned, on Noah's Ark, Timberland Adventure Park, Ripley's, Duck Boats (of course). The kids age range is from 9-4.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I have not camped at Holiday Shores, so am no help on that.  I would call them directly to make sure they aren't affected.  As for the Dells region as a whole - from what I've read, the Ducks are still operational on the Upper Dells and "most" attractions are open.  We visited the Dells about 7 years ago and really enjoyed it.  Unless the weather continues to be total crap, I would still plan on going.  If for no other reason, that area will definitely need all the tourists (and their dollars) that they can get.  I sure hope that in another week some of the flooding has receded for that area.

We made the trip- had a great time.  It was our first long distance trip in the pop-up, and probably the last.  LOVED IT-- But POP-UP is a lot of work, long distance, with three kids.  So I think were going to buy a HYBRID.  Less stuff to pack in the suburban, and unpack:).  Anyways-- Holiday Shores-- great place--Clean, nice and quiet, and plenty of room for the kids to run play, and ride.  Quick breakdown of place- nice shower house, but only has one shower house, for the camper area, and it was a bit of haul to get there.

On the water, -- yes, but not really.  Dont spend the extra $$$ for the riverside sites.  We were about 50 or more feet from the water, and you had to walk through a tent camp site, and then through a small wood section to get to water.  Once their it was pretty, but not swimable at that spot.

WOODED!  Beautiful camp grounds--  Very nice setting--  Downfall-- MOSQUITOS!!!!!!!!  TONS OF THEM!!  And we thought we were prepared for them.  HA!--  Its a month later and were still itching!!!

IT's a drive from town and water parks. Not that that is a drawback, it was nice to be away from the crowds.  But if your going to the dells to do the waterparks/attractions-- you are away from them.  Granted-- it is only a 5-10 drive into downtown dells.

All attractions were open-- minus the TB. Watershow.  and it was a great time.
Next time we will either stay at campground in town-- (away from MOSQUITOS, or stay at a resort.  Holiday Shores it nice, but more geared towards those that are vacationing on the river, for powersports etc etc.
