Help us look out for a good deal on a camper

Ok the DW and I have spent the last two days looking at trailers.  We were really sold on a 07 Starcraft 2412.  We really liked it but just couldn't afford the $10,000.  Although it may have been a pretty good deal.  Summer is the time we always do big things like this but the tightest time financially....

We would really like a larger trailer with two queens at least, with maybe more seating.  Heater and AC would be great, but not necesary.

SO if any of you SCCampers have a lead on a good used trailer send it my way.

Oh and did I mention I am a cheap High school teacher???  Everything we seem to look at is that much out of our range.

So keep your eyes out for us....

IMHO the summer is the worst time to buy. Deals are to be made in Nov. or Dec. when camping season is over. We'll keep an ear to the ground in case we hear anything. Good Luck.

Man, if I had only known.  We traded our Westlake in on the new Jayco a week ago..  It wasn't in perfect condition but it was huge.

Have you checked out the classified section
there are 2 PU for sale right now.
A very nice 2007 Flagstaff, but pricey and also a
1996 Niagara, great price and fits most of your requirements.
Good Luck

We are also looking at used fifthwheel Toyhaulers..and would like some recommendations.  What ones to stay away from and which ones are good.  I know some of you have the Attitudes and a Weekend Warrior. I know about the a recall for the weekend warriors and also that they are going out of business (I was told by another dealer...We have been told so many things by dealers our heads are swirling..but I trust our group SCCampers  for information so any that is given is very helpful...Even if we do have a judge and a lawyer in the group.

Well we are still searching.  Unfortuneatly the trailer we looked at, the person buying did not have the pnk slip because the first owner hasn't paid it off.

Soooo once agian, if anyone sees a good one for sale let us know....

I know you don't like the shower/pottie but with little kids it is sure nice to have the pottie in the middle of the night.  The cassette is very easy to use.

BTW I hate to be a downer, but I have a feeling that Niagra is going to be a little too much popup for your Sienna.  If I remember right the dry weight of the camper is about 2650 and loaded weight is close to 3500 lbs. (especially since it has the a/c slide out and the other options).  You might be ok if you travel on flat ground but if you have to climb a hill or go to the mountains you might ruin your tranny.  Most mini vans are fine with the smaller popups but this one is a big one.

Thats what I think too.  But we will probably still go look.  We are very disappointed about the other trailer falling through, and were really looking forward to the ac and extra room.  WE'll see what happens.
